Let the Mission go through YOU!

This has been a interesting week. One in which we had interviews with our mission president and had MLC.  but this week, I just have one thing I would like to share. It is about missionary work, but can be applied to any aspect of our lives. It is the following line.

We should not just go on a mission, but let the mission go through us.
Many, if not a lot of us have been missionaries. Many of us, have served long and hard. But the question is, are we letting the mission go through us? We can all go on a mission, but too often we think of a mission as something we need to do (relate this to scripture reading, going to the temple, church, school, studying, a million other great and glorious things). But in reality, it is something that needs to go through us, something that needs to change us.
If we go on a mission and come back the same person as we were before, what use was the mission? Yes, you may have converted many souls. Yes, you may have done great good. Yes, to a million other things. But in reality, if it has not changed you, truly changed who you are, then what use was it? I am here to testify about the need to be changed by the mission. This mission is only for a short period of time, and in reality, we need to take this time and use it, and of course Apply it for after the mission. If we have only learned to study the scriptures and choose not to study them after the mission, then we have only gone on a mission. In essence, we can not be who we were yesterday, and we can not be who we were 18/24 months ago. We need to change.
