Work Hard, Play Later

Hello Everyone! I hope that everyone is having a marvelous time πŸ˜€

So this last week, was a crazy week. It was so cool, yet at the same time Tiring. Briefly, my companion and I wanted to get the Most TC’s possible. So this week, we made it a focus that we were going to talk with EVERYONE. It was soooooo exciting, and so invigorating. I love the People here in the Philippines. It is truly a interesting experience. We will be at a park, and start talking to a few people. Before we know it, maybe 20-30 people will join. And we will just talk with them. (For those of you who are a bit Anthropophic, this may not be for you). Random People, people that we have never seen. I love it. We always talk to them, and they generally ask why we are here. Bingo. We then just talk to them about why we have come here, to the Philippines. and Share with them the Good news πŸ˜€ The best thing about this, is you learn to just be yourself. Being yourself works wonders. Anyways, the Coolest thing happened this last week. For those of you who remember, we were challenged to get 30 OYM’s or TC’s per day, or about 210 for the week. Well, we have been working to get this 210. and this week, on Friday, we hit our goal. We had been doing some TC’s in the Park, being pretty successful. It was around dinner time and we had already gotten 60. My companion was not satisfied with this, he pushed us to get more. I do not think I have seen a man so dedicated for a goal. He kept telling me “I know we can get 100 Elder. I know we can do it” so, we worked. it was right as we were going home. We had just hit 100. Then, as we were walking, he told me how he wanted to hit 110. At this point, I was pretty exhausted. But, I wanted to see how hard he wanted to work.Β  Needless to say, we talked with a additional 14 people on the way home, people that before we had just said hi to, or otherwise just talked to. We ended up talking to all of them πŸ™‚ It was so exciting, I loved it πŸ˜€ So for the week, we ended up getting 276 TC. I loved it πŸ˜€
I hope everyone has a marvelous week! There is not a better time to serve the Lord. Do not wait. Whether you have served, are planning on serving, want to serve, unsure about serving, or whatever your situation might be, now is the time. There is no better time. Do not wait until after you are done with school (unless that school is High School :P). Serve in whatever capacity you can. But serve. I am glad that I am able to serve now. this is the MOST rewarding, most invigorating time of my life. When we got those 114 TC’s, I was ready to go to bed. I thought to myself “Never have I had to work this hard in one day. Never have I had to come home so completely worn out. But at the same time, Never have I felt so Blessed, and felt so fulfilled.” Yes, it is tiring, but it is So Worth it. I have grown Closer to my Savior. I love him. Without him, I do not know where I would be. The savior of mankind. He has done for me, what no-one else could ever do. I love him. He has given me the Greatest gift. A gift that, is priceless. One that I must honor and Respect. And one that I MUST share. I can not sit down and not share it. That would be selfish, and overall pointless. People NEED this gift. Even if they do not know that they need it, we do. I do. I know how much this gift has blessed my life, and the lives of Millions of Others. This Gospel changes souls. I was sitting in Church on Sunday, when during the Sacrament Song I Stand All AmazedΒ Came on. I read through the words and they really impacted me. Especially the 2nd and 3rd verses.
I marvel that he would descend from his throne divine
To rescue a soul so rebellious and proud as mine,
That he should extend his great love unto such as I,
Sufficient to own, to redeem, and to justify.
I think of his hands pierced and bleeding to pay the debt!
Such mercy, such love and devotion can I forget?
No, no, I will praise and adore at the mercy seat,
Until at the glorified throne I kneel at his feet.
I look at myself, and see how even Christ went for me. The little Rebellious and proud person I am. If he did that for me, I know that he will do that for all of us. We are all rebellious (Aka Sin), and Prideful (which is one of the faults of almost all mankind). My favorite line though? Is the question, can I forget? No. I can not. I honestly can not forget what Christ has done for me. He has done the impossible. He has saved me.
I hope everyone has a marvelous week!
With Love,
Elder Wilson
