The gospel teaches us that we are all created for a happiness that endures.

The Quote was taken from a Ensign Article in 2014 by a Brother Wilson.

Rainy Season started up this week, which is awesome! It means cooler weather, and more changing of clothes due to them being soaked. But I love it! My companion Elder Seuga Loves it as well, so we both do ūüėõ
Catbalogan ZoneWhat a amazing week! We had Elder Bowen here, and it was Phenomenal. I will share a bit of what he talked about because it was outstandingly amazing. He divided the meeting into 2 One Hour sessions. The first hour he talked a lot about mission culture. He gave this really cool analogy of a Flea. This is kind of the Analogy he gave us.
Fleas move around by jumping. So therefore if you put them in a jar, they will jump right out. Yet if you put a lid on it, they will jump, hit the lid, then fall down. He said it sounds like popcorn haha ūüôā (not the type that I would eat though… xD). After about a minute, they stop hitting the lid, and jump just before they hit the lid. Yet what ends up happening is when you remove the lid, they still just hit just below where the lid used to be. Even though they can jump out, they are still only jumping as high as they did before. Although they can jump out, they choose not to. Then, if the fleas have little flea babies, those babies only jump as high as their parents. In essence, no flea will jump out.
He related this to us as missionaries. Oftentimes as missionaries we put a “False Limitation” on ourselves. This false limitation is NOT ordained of god. Those of us who have been missionaries have expectations for how the work should be performed. We are so used to only being able to get a certain number of lessons, maybe a bit more. He asked for a example of how many lessons we taught last week. One individual said 13. Throughout this example, he told us that we should expand our vision, and take out this false limitation and get 30 or more lessons in a week (he said something like 45). So as missionaries and individuals, we should not put False Limitations on ourselves, we need to reach our highest potential ūüėÄ
The other thing he said, was when we OYM (open your mouth) (he referred to this as a Testifying contact), we need to share information that makes the individual ask one of two questions; are these individuals crazy, or could this possibly be true. By sharing information that is the same as other religions, it almost makes it seem that there is nothing that sets us apart, but we DO have something (a lot of somethings) that set us apart. With this, we have been using Eternal Families in our OYM. It intrigues a lot of people, and I hope that it will continue to do so ūüôā As he said, “we need to testify of the Restoration so that the spirit can”.
The last hour consisted of the Abrahamic Covenant and the Oath and Covenant of the Priesthood. There was something that somewhat surprised me while reading through this; the 41st verse in the 84th section. In essence, this Priesthood is not something that we should mess with. The Lord has given us a amazing blessing, one that I will be forever grateful for. But he also gave us this warning, that we need to act as priesthood holders, especially those whom have been ordained to the Melchezidek Priesthood. With regards to the priesthood, he had us read these Versese. While reading these verses out of the 121st section of the D&C, he had us switch out Chosen with Obedience.  34 Behold, there are many called, but few are [Obedient]. And why are they not [Obedient]?

¬†35¬†Because their¬†hearts¬†are set so much upon the things of this¬†world, and¬†aspire¬†to the¬†honors¬†of men, that they do not learn this one lesson‚ÄĒ

36 That the rights of the priesthood are inseparably connected with the powers of heaven, and that the powers of heaven cannot be controlled nor handled only upon the principles of righteousness.

37 That they may be conferred upon us, it is true; but when we undertake to cover our sins, or to gratify ourpride, our vain ambition, or to exercise control ordominion or compulsion upon the souls of the children of men, in any degree of unrighteousness, behold, the heavens withdraw themselves; the Spirit of the Lord is grieved; and when it is withdrawn, Amen to the priesthood or the authority of that man.

The last thing he talked about (of course) was Marriage (here comes the Of course, as a missionary I should not be focused on this quite yet, but he had us write it down). this is more for Sisters to observe, but important because Brethren, if a sister asks these questions, be ready.
The first thing he said, is sisters need to watch the following: DO they wear their garments properly? Do they treat women (in essence his sisters and mom) with respect? Makes sure that he does not use :Mental, physical, or spiritual abuse.
3 Questions to ask before a sister marries her fiance:
  1. Where is the Oath and Covenant of the Priesthood?
  2. What does it mean to you?
  3. How have you applied it?
Loved the opportunity to Have Elder Bowen come in, he was absolutely outstanding!
Hope everyone has a stupendously marvelous week!
With Love,
Elder Wilson ^_^
