Now is the time for members and missionaries to come together, to work together, to labor …
What a week. We had our District Conference this past week and the focus of the conference was (yep, you guessed it) Missionary work. We had a member of the Area 70 here and he talked a lot about the importance of Members working with Missionaries. He talked about how Alma, when he went to Amoniaha He failed. A prophet of God Failed. He could not get anyone to talk with him, Then he left. Once he left, The Lord told him to come back. Here, he went a different way and met Amulek. Amulek, he related, was like members. Once the people saw that one of their own were out with these “foreigners” they were more intrigued by the message. Just like Alma, Great and powerful Missionaries are working. But no matter how good, strong, or powerful a missionary is, they are of no use if the members are not helping the work progress. That can be as simple as giving them a referal,Fellow shipping a new person you have not met before, working with them, whatever it might be. Missionaries without members is pointless. Pointless in every aspect of the work. If a investigator comes to church, but nobody will talk with them, what is the likely hood of that investigator coming back? Anyone who has done missionary work knows that the best and most effective way is through members. Therefore, I invite you to work with missionaries where you live. Working with missionaries will bring you great joy, and happiness, and will give you some blessings as well.
Now, I am so happy for my sister Sarah Wilson. I got her first weekly email this past week and I can not tell you how happy I am for her. Sister Missionaries are some of the most powerful missionaries in the entire world, and for my sister to go out is something that brings me more joy that only our father in heaven knows of. This joy, This happiness comes from the knowledge that she is going out to serve, to serve the lord and to do everything that the lord asks of her. She is a absolutely wonderful person, and a wonderful daughter of God. I am so proud to call her my sister.
How Grateful I am to be serving the Lord. No matter when things get tough, things are easy, whatever it might be, I would not be anywhere else. I was told something Last night by a member, James. James has one of the best English out of anyone else that I have seen here. He has helped me Learn more about the culture, and more about the Filipino people! Something cool I learned Last night,When a Filipino makes a friend, a true friend, they remain Friends for Life! So i guess I will be making some good friends while I am out here 🙂
Hope everyone has a marvelous week!
Sincerely,
With Love,
Elder Wilson!
