Loose yourself in the Work

This week has been a great one. We did a lot of finding, and as a result found 20 new investigators! I continue to love this area, and especially the people here. One of the best way’s that I have found to find, is to do service. This week was helped by such service.

We were attempting to teach this individual who we had OYM’ed a few days prior, when we saw this other man pulling a caribou. So, upon seeing this we saw a opportunity to perform service. We were asked to bring the caribou to him, so we did. As we got closer to the location, we noticed something odd. there was a extra plow there. As we were walking, we realized that we were going to be the ones to plow. So cool, as neither of us had done this before. So, we go and perform this service. As I was stepping back, to try and watch my companion I begin by stepping in some mud, A lot of mud. My shoes came off and my socks were drenched in mud. Such a unique experience, that I am actually sad that I did not take a photo of the result. Oh well! It was a awesome experience, and a lot more fun then I thought it would be! Yes, including the muddy part. Oddly enough, one of the sisters (in the original house) allowed us to teach her. Her Husband’s family is the ones who were watching, laughing, and videoing the entire thing. She is actually related to another of our investigators, who would have guessed! Small world, even here in the Philippines.
I am realizing how important loosing ourselves in this work truly is. As I continue to understand more of the language, I continue to love these people, and to think of these people even more, at all times, in all things, and in all places. I love being a missionary, and am beginning to understand why so many people want others to go on a mission. I am truly humbled daily by these people, and continue to be in awe by the lords hand in this work.
The needs of others are ever present, and each of us can do something to help someone.
